Nice police department, friendly officers.
They screwed up paperwork resulting in a warrant for my arrest. The court clerk, Kathy Matthews, has a tremendous chip on her shoulder. She cursed at me and walked away when I tried to get their paperwork mistake figured out and corrected.
Officers made numerous checks during my absence and even called me out of state to let me know that I'd left a door unlocked.
Alarmingly incompetent force and staff. They use actuarial tables to determine who to pull over and ticket. I got a ticket for rolling a stop sign around the corner from a person openly selling drugs every morning near the BP. My fault, I broke the law.

I have called the UCity police department twice, once for a break-in of my car and once because I was concerned about a personal safety issue. Both times they responded quickly and both of the officers I talked to were very polite, gentle and understanding. On the instance when I was concerned about my safety and that of my child there was an officer's car parked in front of my house every day for nearly a month afterwards. It gave me so much peace of mind to know that my problem was serious to them. I would never hesitate to call the UCity police department.
I watched an officer struggle to operate a standard tumbler key and lock for several minutes before 'figuring it out'. While being booked, a single officer turned his back to me in the car and the wide open bay doors leaving himself and the station open to any passerby entering. They endanger themselves and fellow officers in everyday actions. Avoid this entire city.
